The itinerary was really well thought out and planned, and the tour allowed us to experience the best Norway has to offer. It was a very nice trip with Nordic Visitor, and a wonderful experience. I was very happy with your services, I was picked up at the airport, and we drove to Kiruna, and went through the program of my tour. We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of the trip. It was easy and stress free and we had a wonderful time.
Thank you for everything - it was well organised. The mobile phone was great. Thank you - it was a fantastic holiday!!. The trip was great.
We took more than 2500 pics, we drove more than 3300 Km. We met many friends on the way - most of them "Nordic people". The service provided and information received before the tour was excellent. The standard of accommodation was excellent, for me the best experience was sleeping in the national park, however every single hotel was wonderful.
We had the best guide-driver we could dream of. For us he was more than a guide. I have a deep respect and admiration for Asgeir who helped us to discover, understand and fall in love with this beautiful country. He adapted himself so kindly to our needs and tantrums. My daughter keeps talking about him. I do not exaggerate when I say he is her hero. Now everyone knows him in France and in England.
I was not expecting such high quality standard of meals. My favorite was a meal at the last restaurant where every single dish was a delight (Hotel Ranga). It was definitively the best restaurant along with the sea food bar in Reykjavik. Ask Thora for the name. It was also very nice to meet her in Reykjavik. The weather has been with us as well. Every landscape and natural feature have been a festival of emotions for us. Icelandic people are welcoming, and friendly.
They love and respect the countryside and people. I am very happy that my daughter (9) had the chance to visit and enjoy such a magical country where elves, nature and modernity live together in harmony. I did enjoy this tour deeply.
It was the best holiday I never had. This was the first tour that we have ever booked. Normally when we travel, we research and do all our planning ourselves. This trip was a delightful exception. It was very well organized by Nordic Visitor. I felt so much more comfortable with having so much planned by the experts ahead of time. The knowledge about Iceland from the people who live there is priceless. The maps, the phone and the GPS, were a significant help.
We would never have been able to have experienced all that we did in such mental and physical comfort without the aid of Nordic Visitor. They listened to what we wanted (eg: farm guest houses instead of hotels). They answered quickly whenever I had a question, and were very gentle and generous with answering what I am sure were obnoxious questions. I would use them to book trips again in a heartbeat.
The accommodations were incredible, even had the coveted room 202 at the Vik Icelandair Hotel!. My car and GPS were brand new, I was the 2nd person to use the car. It was an amazing trip, and when I come back I will use NV again. Excellent service from the word 'Go'. At one point on the holiday there was a discrepancy between what was on our voucher and what the hotel thought were the arrangements for the evening meal, but after a quick e-mail from me she sorted it out there and then.
Overall a great holiday experience, we were very pleased that after e-mail discussion with our consultant we changed our preferred vehicle to larger AWD type, in particular when travelling through the ice and snow. We appreciated very much the map with hand written suggestions and all accommodation marked.
The written itinerary was an excellent guide. Combined with the GPS supplied meant we did not get lost. We thought the tour was very professionally organised and we had no problems whatsoever and would certainly recommend Nordic Visitor. However personally we like to travel a little slower and would have liked at least one more 2 night stay in a hotel, as we felt some days seemed too long by the time we got to our accommodation. We didn't enjoy the Western Fjords as much as the rest of the country and if would recommend others to spend a similar number of days in Iceland but without visiting the Fjords.
The last day we felt was a bit of a rush to get the car back in time as we had an early flight the next day. Thank you for a wonderful holiday. We were very impressed with the efficiency of everything which Nordic Visitor organised. The accommodation was varied and very friendly. The hand- annotated road map was especially useful.
We saw things which we would not have found ourselves because they had been highlighted on the map or in the itinerary. An especial highlight was the haycart puffin tour at Ingolshofthi. Car hire was also an efficient and quick affair, much better than our last car-hire experience in France. We had not realised just how large Iceland is and we would love to return to see the rest of the country. The overall organization was very well executed.
We had our reservations made everywhere we went, with pre-booked departures on the tours we wanted to take. This eliminated the deception of showing up at the counter and being told that the tour is full and not able to register.
It allowed us to benefit from every hour we were in Iceland. The small car was in good condition (Ford Focus). Great service, great suggestions. The map outlined and prepared for us was great, along with ideas and suggestions for each day. It was just enough. Thank you VERY MUCH. Guides on our tours were informative, interesting, and very easy to talk to with good senses of humor. Pick up times were prompt. The hotel was great and accomidating.
The trip and services were outstanding. We loved Iceland and found the Icelanders to be extremely friendly people.Uncover the core marketing messages and channels used by retailers to promote premium fuels. Learn the extent to which premium petrol and diesel have penetrated the European motor fuel market and relative consumption by market. Introduction Since the launch of the Shell Optimax brand in 2001, the use of premium fuels has grown and they now account for a significant part of European fuel sales in selected markets.
Scope An overview of the leading premium fuel brands and their availability, both in terms of site numbers and as a proportion of total company sites.
Highlights Although most major oil companies in Europe have a premium fuel offering, the proportion of their service stations selling premium fuel varies. Reasons to Purchase Measure the availability of premium fuel brands across Europe, both in terms of total site numbers and proportion of company sites. For years the traditional media and television industries have understood the value of using third party content to complement that which has been produced internally.
Publishers without premium content will be left behind and with the ad blocking bandwagon set to roll into 2016, publishers need to give users additional reasons to love them now more than ever. Understanding what content users are interested in and presenting them with relevant video simply makes sense. JW player has just announced a unique video recommendation engine and expect to see and hear more of this in 2016. For too long many publishers have bolted irrelevant video onto articles or created video sections or channels that act as dumping grounds for a whole range of video content.
In 2016 we will start to see an increase in the number of publishers using contextual solutions to offer users video content that matches what they are reading or consuming at any moment in time. The attraction is clear. No video inventory or content.
Simply place a piece of code on your site and start delivering video ads. However 2015 saw advertisers and agencies start to correct the market with lower CPM valuations for outstream and many citing outstream as glorified display advertising. An outstream-only strategy was a band-aid, but contextually relevant pre-roll is the cure.
Overall there will still be video inventory shortages in the market, but with moves like that made by GroupM with regards to tighter viewability standards and ongoing industry efforts regarding ad fraud, we will see a growing volume of premium (viewable) inventory enter the market in response to these moves. As premium video inventory increases and poor video quality inventory is culled, this will inevitably lead to an increase in average video CPMs.
As the video advertising and content industry grew over the past few years, many publishers sought out convenient, bundled solutions consisting of video player, streaming, content and monetization, or a similar combination. As the market has matured the trend is towards working with best-in-class providers across each element of the video stack. For forward thinking publishers, premium solutions will always trump convenient mediocrity. Expect to see this trend continue into 2016. Expect to see brands begin to demand more from their agencies, smart agencies getting more creative in their approach and publishers setting tighter guidelines as to what creative they will accept.
The consistent theme running through much of this piece is the user. If as an industry we consistently deliver users the right content, with relevant and respectful advertising, all wrapped up in a satisfactory user experience, then the rest will look after itself. Best in class trumps convenience. Enjoy the 2016 ride. In October 2009 John Walkenbach noticed that the price of the Kindle was falling at a consistent rate, lowering almost on a schedule.
By June 2010, the rate was so unwavering that he could easily forecast the date at which the Kindle would be free: November 2011. In August, 2010 I had the chance to point it out to Jeff Bezos, CEO of Amazon.
When I brought it to the attention of publishing veterans they would often laugh nervously. It must cost something to make. The trick was figuring out how Amazon could bundle the free Kindle and still make money.
My thought was the cell phone model: a free Kindle if you buy X number of e-books. But last week Michael Arrington at TechCruch reported on a rumor which hints at a more clever plan: a free Kindle for every Prime customer of Amazon. It turns out that was just a test run for a much more ambitious program. A reliable source tells us Amazon wants to give a free Kindle to every Amazon Prime subscriber.
If the past is any indication of future events, expect an as-if-free Kindle this fall in time for the holidays. So in addition to studying vocabulary words, you should also practice doing advanced reading and test your ability to define tough words based on their context.
Your first place to head for SAT Reading practice is the source: the College Board website. They've posted a number of free new SAT practice tests.
Start there to get a sense of what the new SAT Reading section is like. Still have old SAT prep books sitting around. You can use old SAT Critical Reading questions to practice, but focus on the passage-based questions and ignore the sentence-completion questions. ACT Reading section questions will also be helpful, as they are all passage-based and contain vocabulary in context as well as logical progression questions.
Another unlikely but helpful source is ACT Science questions. ACT Science also has you break down charts, graphs, and evidence. If you can do well on ACT Science, you will be able to do well on the new SAT data reasoning questions.
Check out some sample questions over the Law School Admissions Council website.
Want a bit more structure for vocabulary in context. One of my favorite tools for learning vocabulary in context is a browser app called ProfessorWord.
This article alone has about a dozen SAT vocabulary words, according to ProfessorWord. The writing section is quite different on the new SAT. There is more emphasis on logic and expression of ideas, higher-level writing skills, and punctuation. This means that there are fewer grammar rules tested in isolation, which in turn means fewer "gotcha" questions on the new SAT Writing section. However, being aware of writing style, construction, and organization is more important, since you will now be working with longer passages.
Start your studying by learning English grammar rules by heart.
Then give the SAT's official practice tests a try. In terms of additional practice questions, we recommend you use ACT English practice questions, as these are all passage-based, like the new SAT Writing questions are. You can also use old SAT Writing multiple-choice questions to test your grammar rule knowledge, but remember to be ready for passages. There are also lotion bars and lip balms and glosses that come in glass or metal containers.
More on the razor and the blades here. Find plastic-free, zero waste dental floss. They offer a choice of recycled paper or bamboo. Seventh Generation recycled individually wrapped toilet paper can be ordered by the case through Amazon.
It comes in a cardboard box without any plastic wrapping. One great brand is Luna Pads, which are made with organic cotton. Remember to ask the seller to ship with no plastic packaging.
Some women prefer the Diva Cup, which can be washed and reinserted. Read about them here. Several readers have offered other options. Check out my May 7, 2010 post and especially the comments for plastic-free sunscreen alternatives. Check out these new plastic-free, organic hair elastics. This way, I can avoid all the disposable cups, plates, and cutlery in the lunchroom.
Those containers contain endocrine-disrupting chemicals. My Waring Pro is all glass and metal and works just fine. It was a fun experiment. When we run out of jars, we store leftovers in bowls with saucers on top instead of plastic wrap. Bowls with saucers are great for stacking.
We also use Anchor glass refrigerator containers to store daily portions of our homemade cat food. More on that below. The key to freezing foods in glass is not to fill the jar too full, since the food will expand inside the container. The other caveat is not to heat the glass too quickly. Let foods thaw at room temperature to avoid glass breakage.
Another option for the refrigerator or freezer are the flat-topped airtight stainless steel containers from Life Without Plastic. Their flat top makes them easy to stack and the fact that they are airtight means food can be stored longer. Read about my favorite container here. You can also learn to can foods in glass jars or dehydrate produce to keep through the winter. I did question whether it was better to donate these unhealthy items or to trash them.
Turns out, our Oaklandwater is fine without a filter. So we can avoid plastic water filter cartridges from now on. For those who do need to filter their water, Brita has teamed up with Preserve to create a way to recycle the plastic cartridges. All prepared soy milk cartons contain plastic. I squeeze fresh lemon and lime juice and keep it in glass jars in the refrigerator. And we make our own hummus, either from dried chick peas or from the dry mix in the bulk bin at Whole Foods.
I have no problem acquiring second-hand plastic. I also look for items made from recycled plastic, for the same reason. This solves several plastic problems.Determine where your customers are There is a lot of information out there dissecting what types of demographics are on which types of platforms, but generally speaking, if your business has a Facebook and Twitter presence you are in good shape.
Make sure you have a plan Few things are more depressing for consumers and customers than to look for a business on social media, to see that they do have a social media presence, but that the platforms have not been updated. Engage with your market Virtually every professional group has an organizational association, but even for entrepreneurs and small business owners there are people and organizations you should definitely engage with on social media. Use what works There is no shame in observing what your competition is doing, making it your own, and customizing it for your business.
Personal Skills:The SkillsYouNeed Guide to Stress and Stress ManagementSubscribe to our FREE newsletter and start improving your life in just 5 minutes a day. Many people do not act positively to reduce the stress in their lives until physical symptoms force them to consider how their lifestyle is affecting their well-being. Learn to recognise when you are stressed and take steps to minimise stress and avoid additional stress.
There are numerous steps that can be taken to reduce the risk of being affected by stress and many of them are a matter of simple common sense. This page contains some simple steps that you can take to help minimise or avoid stress.
The page continues to suggest some techniques to help you relax, medical, complementary and self-help methods designed to alleviate the negative symptoms that stress can cause. If you are worried about your stress levels or are struggling to manage or avoid stress then it is important that you speak to your doctor or other health-care provider.
Knowing what is likely to cause stress can help avoid such things in the future. Keep a record of what situations make you stressful and see how you might deal with them in other ways in the future.
Many people do not include relaxation time in their schedules. Conscious relaxation is important for your body and mind and can help you deal with the negatives of stress. It is common for people to overestimate how much can be achieved in a particular space of time, so leave free time to cope with the unexpected.
Plan time in the day to do something that gives you pleasure. Looking forward to such times helps when you have to cope with less pleasant aspects of life. Positive thinking:Do not dwell on failures and reward yourself for your successes. Accept that everyone has limits and cannot succeed at everything.
Reflect on what you have achieved. Asserting yourself in a positive, non-threatening way can help to combat stress. Accept the demands placed on you only as a matter of choice. People are better able to cope with stress when their bodies are healthy. Poor health in itself is a major source of stress. Incorporating periods of physical exercise into your routine will help to improve muscle control, make you feel healthier and increase self-esteem.
Try to improve your diet and avoid stimulants as much as possible. Excess caffeine or nicotine can make individuals feel anxious or on-edge.
Also, ensure you get enough sleep. Do not try to cope with problems alone. You might find it useful to talk to a friend or work colleague, or talk to your line manager or employer if you are experiencing stress in the work place.
There many things you can do to help alleviate stress in your life, learning to relax and incorporating time to relax as part of your daily routine can help you to manage the symptoms of stress. By considering the approaches outlined below, you will be able to think about and experiment with what works best for you.
Which approaches are most effective in relieving both the causes and symptoms of your stress. Once learned, self-help relaxation techniques are particularly useful as they are available to the stressed individual whenever the need arises and allow one to gain control over feelings and anxieties.
A very wide range of relaxation techniques have been developed, although many can be seen as variations on a number of basic methods, focusing on the physical feelings of tension, or using mental imagery to induce calm.
Perhaps the most powerful method of relaxation is mindfulness. At it's simplest mindfulness is focusing on the current moment, the here and now and allowing, through a type of meditation, worries about the future or regrets about the past to melt away. How to write and use an AutoHotKey script.
